Terms of Service

Summary

Acceptance

By creating an account, signing in, or using StudIO RuangIde (the "Service"), operated by PT Ruang Ide Wijoyo, of Jalan Prabu Kian Santang, Sangian, Periuk, Kota Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia ("Studio", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you act on behalf of a publisher, institution, or other party, you represent that you are authorised to bind that party. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

The Service includes DOCX, JATS, and OJS import, a manuscript editor, readiness checks, export to JATS XML, PDF, HTML, and DOCX, synchronisation with OJS, and the studioGalley plugin. Features marked "coming soon" are not promised to work by a particular date. We may add, change, or discontinue features with reasonable notice on this site.

Accounts and security

• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Tell us promptly if your account is used without permission.
• You are responsible for your connection to your OJS, including API tokens, and for your compliance with OJS and your journal's policies.

Your content

You keep ownership of the manuscripts, metadata, images, and other data you upload ("Content"). You grant Studio a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, back up, and process Content solely to run the Service for you. We do not claim ownership of your Content.

You warrant that you have the rights to your Content, including any permissions required for personal data of third parties in your manuscripts, and that your Content is lawful.

Scholarly and editorial responsibility

StudIO RuangIde is a production tool. We are not a publisher or a scholarly editor, and we do not guarantee originality, research ethics, or the accuracy of manuscript content. Editorial decisions, citations, and compliance with journal and indexing policies remain the responsibility of you, your publisher, and your authors.

Readiness checks and validation results are indicative only. We do not guarantee that exported files will be accepted by OJS, Crossref, DOAJ, or any other index.

Credits, payments, and pricing

• Each account receives a set number of free exports per month, under the settings in force at the time. Further exports use credits.
• Credit and package prices are shown on the pricing page and in the app at the time of purchase. We may change prices; changes apply to later purchases.
• Credits are a right to use the Service, not money. Credits cannot be cashed out, transferred between accounts, or exchanged for money, unless required by law.
• Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, including QRIS.
• Successful payments and credits already used are non-refundable, except for a service failure on our side that we do not fix within a reasonable time.

Nothing in this section limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Prohibited use

You must not:

• use the Service for content that violates the law or the copyright, trademark, or personal data rights of others;
• upload malware, attempt to breach, overload, or bypass quota and payment limits;
• reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or resell the Service without written permission;
• present another person's work as your own, or give your account to someone else without permission.

Availability and warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep the Service running, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss. Scheduled or emergency maintenance may cause temporary interruptions.

You must keep your own copies of manuscripts and important export files. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express and implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Third parties

Some functions depend on third parties, such as your OJS, Crossref, payment providers, email (SMTP) providers, hosting and storage providers, and Google Fonts. We are not responsible for outages, API or policy changes, or failures of those parties.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, reputation, data, or publication opportunities, rejection of a manuscript, or non-indexing.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the claim arose. Nothing in this section limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold Studio harmless from third-party claims, fines, and legal costs arising from your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of others' rights.

Account closure

You may close your account at any time using the delete-account feature in the app. We may suspend or close an account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or if there is suspected abuse or a security risk.

Payments and credits already used are not refunded if closure results from your breach. After closure, data is deleted or anonymised as described in the Privacy and Cookie Policy, unless we are legally required to keep it.

Intellectual property

The brand, logo, design, code, and documentation of the Service belong to Studio or its licensors. The studioGalley plugin is licensed under GPL v3 as stated in its package; these Terms do not restrict the rights granted by that licence.

Privacy

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy and Cookie Policy. By using the Service, you also accept that policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date is shown above. Material changes are announced on this site or by email to your account at least seven (7) days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may close your account before the change takes effect. Continued use after that means you accept the change.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Disputes are first settled by amicable discussion for thirty (30) days after written notice. If no settlement is reached, disputes are resolved at the Tangerang District Court.

Force majeure

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as disasters, widespread power or internet outages, government orders, or cyberattacks beyond our reasonable control.

Other terms

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right. These Terms, together with the Privacy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
